This is the 18-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra's last dance in Concord until February, so make sure you come see us at this historical venue this Saturday.  We have a very special guest which will surely make it worth your while!

We will be featuring American Idol finalist John Stevens as he performs songs by his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra, as well as other classics by Bobby Darin and Harry Connick Jr.  Now 21 years old and with one record album under his belt, John placed 6th overall during American Idol's third season as a 16-year-old.  To see his performance of "As Time Goes By" on American Idol, click on the video below..  When John graduates from Berklee this spring, he plans on resuming his recording career.  Catch him while you can, as he may become the next Michael Buble!

Before the band goes on, swing dance instructors Liz Miller and Seth Burgess will give an hour-long beginner lesson starting at 7:30pm, which is free with admission and no partner or experience is required.  Because the "followers" rotate through the "leaders," it's a great way to meet people before the dance begins.

Then, John Stevens and the 18-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra will get the dance floor hopping with classic big band arrangements.  The band mainly consists of college students from Berklee and NEC, as well as some recent grads.  There is plenty of energy here to get the place swinging all night long!  During the break, a jazz quartet consisting of students at Westford Academy will perform.

Concord Scout HouseThe Scout House, located in beautiful historic downtown Concord Center, is an 18th century barn that was converted into a dance hall in 1940 and has remained a popular dance venue ever since.  The acoustics are great, and the dance floor is so springy you feel like you can fly!  Please bring a change of shoes to protect the dance floor.  Parking is readily available on the street or in nearby public lots (but please do not park in the church lot just to the right).  If taking public transportation, the Concord station of the commuter rail (Fitchburg line) is a six minute walk from the Scout House through a very safe neighborhood.

Hope to see you this Saturday, and please forward this announcement to all your friends!

We are in the movie "My Best Friend's Girl" with Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, Jason Biggs, and Alec Baldwin, which is currently playing in theaters!  When you see us play "Hava Nagila" and "Sing, Sing, Sing," that is actually us playing and you can see us in the end credits!
