The Beantown Swing Orchestra represents the future of big band music. Specializing in the performance of Swing Era classics as well as current songs custom arranged for big band, its mission is to bring this music back into the mainstream for current and future generations to enjoy.

Now in its twelfth year, the Beantown Swing Orchestra is available for classy galas and weddings where it is important to get all ages onto the dance floor. It also performs concerts and offers school programs with the goal of engaging, entertaining, and educating audiences with this historically significant and most sophisticated form of American music ever created.

  • Come dance and party with the 18-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra as they perform their 11th annual outdoor concert on the steps of the majestic Crane Estate mansion in front of a half-mile lawn that stretches out to the ocean above Crane's Beach. For a video mashup from the band's 2012 epic performance, go to There will be a group swing dance lesson from 6 to 7pm with instructors Maria Kakolowski and Ryan Gustafson, and the band plays from 7 to 9pm. Tickets are only available at the gate, and admission is $30 per car, so cram as many people in as you can. Get there early because they will turn people away once they reach 2000 attendees.
