1. Information We Collect and How It’s Used

We collect Personal Information about you when you sign up for our email list, purchase tickets through the Website, or contact us via email. In each case, Beantown Swing Orchestra collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with the Website.

We will not sell or rent your Personal Information to anyone. We may release your Personal Information if its release is appropriate to comply with the law or to protect our or others’ rights, property or safety.

1.1 Email List

We ask for your email address when subscribing to our email newsletter, so that we may occasionally send you emails about upcoming performances and noteworthy band news. The email address you provide will be transferred to MailChimp, our marketing automation platform, for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. Your email address will be stored with MailChimp indefinitely (for as long as we maintain our account). You may choose to unsubscribe from our email list at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email. You may also email us to request that your email address be permanently removed from our MailChimp account.

1.2 Ticket Purchases

To purchase tickets, you must provide contact information (e.g. name and address) and financial information (e.g. credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your order. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you. All transactions made through the Website are processed through PayPal. We do not process or store credit card information on our Website server. The PayPal Privacy Policy can be viewed here.

1.3 Email Correspondence

If you choose to contact us via the email addresses provided on the Website, we will receive your name and email address. We use this information to respond to your inquiry. We use Microsoft Exchange as our email provider. Emails are stored indefinitely or until request for deletion.

We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze Website traffic information such as the browser type, referring site, pages visited, and the date of each visit. We use this information to find out how much traffic the Website is receiving and to learn what content is most popular. This information helps us improve the Website and monitor performance.

4.2 Embedded Content

The Website includes embedded videos from our YouTube channel. The videos are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, however, YouTube cookies may still be set when the videos are played. We have no access to, or control over these cookies.

We do not specifically market to children under the age of 13. Any person who provides Personal Information through the Website represents to us that he or she is 13 years of age or older. If we learn that Personal Information has been collected from a Website visitor under 13 years of age, we will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.
